Arlington Heights Dentist - Smiles of Arlington

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.  Our community has been through a lot over the past few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.  While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same:  our commitment to your health and safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice.  We follow the recommendations of the American Dental Association, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), the Illinois State Dental Society and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We follow the activities of these agencies in order to remain up-to-date on new rulings and guidance.  Therefore, we are implementing their additional recommended infection control measures in response to COVID-19.  In accordance with IDPH guidelines, we are only available to treat emergencies, take x-rays, and provide examinations (no cleanings) at this time.  When we have sufficient personal protective equipment to keep our patients and staff safe, we will be able to provide more extensive care.  Please visit our website at for updates.  If you had an appointment that was canceled due to COVID-19, we will contact you as soon as possible.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment.  We made these changes to protect our patients and staff.  For example:

  • When confirming appointments, we will ask you some screening questions related to your general health and potential COVID-19 exposure.  You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office.  Your temperature will be taken as well.  It is possible that we may need to reschedule your appointment.
  • Please wear a mask when you visit the office.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines and children’s toys, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.

We look forward to seeing you again. Please contact our office at or 847-253-4626 with any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice.

Thank you for being our patient.  We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.
